Insurance as an Enabler of Sustainability: Turning Sustainability & Climate Risk into Resilience
Sustainability ambitions succeed when they are backed by a clear view of ESG/climate risk exposure, strong governance, and a risk-financing strategy that can absorb shocks. This session explores how insurance and risk management can support credible sustainability action—by translating physical, transition, and liability risks (including greenwashing and regulatory change) into practical controls, evidence for underwriters, and more resilient decision-making.
Key Takeaways:
- How to connect sustainability goals to material risk: A practical way to map sustainability commitments to physical, transition, and liability exposures that leadership teams must govern.
- What changes insurance outcomes: The types of risk analytics, data, mitigation actions, and governance signals that help organisations demonstrate risk maturity to insurers—supporting stronger coverage conversations and risk-financing decisions.
- How insurance helps sustainability deliver (not just report): How insurance can provide balance-sheet protection and enable investment in resilience/transition and achieve sustainability goals.
